Zechs Merquise, presumed dead after the explosion of the battleship Libra, returns to join the Preventers in their battle against Mariemeia Khushrenada. He is given the codename "Wind" and takes Tallgeese 3 out to space. He destroys a few Serpent transports and arrives at the resource satellite MO-III. He prepares to destroy the satellite, but stops when Dekim Barton threatens to drop the colony L1X18999 onto Earth. Once he receives word that Hiiro Yuy, Duo Maxwell, and Trowa Barton have stabliized the colony's orbit, though, he proceeds to blow up MO-III. Unfortunately, the delay was too long, and Dekim escapes.
Tallgeese 3 returns to Earth; Noin's Taurus joins it, and together, the two of them battle the Serpent Custom mobile suits. They begin to reach their limit, but the conclusion of the battle is not yet in sight. Finally, help arrives in the form of three Gundams. With the new reinforcements, Tallgeese 3 continues the battle. However, no matter how many Serpents they destroy, thre just seem to be more and more coming at them. They're eventually surrounded and prepare to be defeated. Wing Zero arrives above them, though, and the Serpents are forced to change their target to defend against Wing Zero's buster rifle, which is aiming for Mariemeia's shield.
After the battle, Tallgeese 3 just sort of disappears. It is likely it was self-detonated, but the detonation is never shown.
