Series Overview

"With high hopes, human beings leave Earth to begin a new life in the space colonies. But the United Earth Sphere Alliance gains military power, and in the name of Justice and Peace, seizes control of one colony after another. The year is After Colony 195. Operation Meteor. To counter the Alliance's tyranny, rebel colonists bring new arsenals to the Earth, disguising them as shooting stars. But the Alliance headquarters catches on to this operation."

As the series begins, we're introduced to two very important characters: Hiiro Yuy and Zechs Merquise. Hiiro, the pilot of Wing Gundam, sent from the space colonies by Dr. J. Zechs, the masked warrior from the peaceful Sanc Kingdom, bent on revenge and restoring his homeland. Neither Hiiro Yuy nor Zechs Merquise would have been prepared for the path things would follow, though...

Five "shooting stars" burn through the Earth's atmosphere - five atmosphere entry capsules, each containing an immensely powerful Gundam mobile suit. Wing Gundam, Gundam Deathscythe, Gundam Heavyarms, Gundam Sandrock, Shenlong Gundam. The five Gundams sent from space to free the colonies from the United Earth Sphere Alliance and the oppression of which it seems to be so fond.

Hiiro Yuy, the pilot of Wing Gundam, races to Earth, but on the way, comes across a civilian shuttle. Aboard the shuttle are Relena Peacecraft, the fifteen year old girl who would change Hiiro's life, and her adoptive father, Vice Foreign Minister Dorlian. Hiiro prepares to shoot the shuttle down, but an Earth assault carrier intervenes. Aboard is the aforementioned Zechs Merquise, as well as several mobile suits. Wing Gundam breaks free of its atmosphere entry capsule and continues on in its flight stage, Bird Mode. Zechs exits the carrier in a Leo ground battle mobile suit and engages Hiiro and his Gundam, at the time, unaware of what he was up against. One good shot to the right wing and it seems the Gundam is going to go down in flames before it's ever even set foot on the Earth. A mobile suit of Gundanium alloy is not going to be taken down so easily, however, and it transforms into a mobile suit. Two mobile suit pilots arrive from the assault carrier in Aries suits to aid Zechs, but Hiiro Yuy's buster rifle makes short work of them. Zechs sacrifices his Leo and sends them both crashing down into the ocean, while escaping the suit with a parachute. Hiiro Yuy is presumed dead, and a small expedition begins to locate the suit.

One by one, each Gundam pilot reveals himself. Duo Maxwell, pilot of the Gundam Deathscythe, attacks a mobile suit factory. Trowa Barton, pilot of the Gundam Heavyarms, attacks a spaceport. Quatre Raberba Winner, pilot of the Gundam Sandrock, fights off an expedition team searching for his capsule with his Maganac Corps. Chang Wu Fei, pilot of the Shenlong Gundam, attacks a seaport. Zechs Merquise pieces together the attacks and realizes that there are five Gundams to deal with, including the one he'd already sent to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

Meanwhile, Hiiro Yuy has survived his crash to Earth. He washes up on the beach and is found by Relena Dorlian (AKA, Relena Peacecraft). She calls for an ambulance, and Hiiro jumps up. He attempts to kill himself, but fails. He steals the ambulance and drives away. He later enrolls in school...and ends up enrolling in Relena's school. After school, Relena finds Hiiro standing outside and hands him an invitation to her birthday party. He rips it up. She gets very sad and angry, and asks him why he did that. He doesn't respond, but wipes away a tear. As he walks away, he whispers in her ear, "Omae o korosu," or "I'll kill you." Thus begins a very strange relationship.

Duo Maxwell investigates the recent activities in the ocean and comes across the Wing Gundam. Unaware of there being other pilots, Duo is shocked, but decides to use the Gundam for parts. He surfaces, but meets Hiiro Yuy at the nearby marina. Hiiro prepares to destroy his Gundam with three stolen torpedoes, but Relena arrives and tries to stop him. He points a gun at her, but before he can kill her, he's shot in the arm. Standing a few feet away is Duo Maxwell, and he believes he's just done Relena a favor. Imagine his surprise when Relena runs to Hiiro's aid. Hiiro jumps up again, going for his gun, but Duo shoots him in the leg. Relena blocks Hiiro from any further gunshots, and Hiiro takes the opportunity to jump on top of his torpedoes and destroy the Gundams rising to the surface. Hiiro stays with the torpedoes in another attempt to kill himself. Once again, he fails, and the Gundams survive the attack.

Duo, realizing that Hiiro is the pilot of the other Gundam, sets off to rescue him from the Alliance, which has taken him into custody. Relena launches her own search, and they both find him at the Alliance medical building in the south J.A.P. area. Relena meets with Alliance Major Sally Poe, who has been studying Hiiro Yuy. They travel up to visit him, although he's been unconscious the whole time. Hiiro wakes up, but with his amazing control over his body, keeps his pulse and and brain waves from increasing. Duo smashes through a wall and Hiiro borrows Duo's knife to free himself from his restraints. They run off, pursued by Sally Poe and Relena Peacecraft. As they reach an outer wall, Duo throws a small explosive at it, and they jump out of the 52nd story of the building. Duo whips out a nifty little contraption using miniature energy rotors, but Hiiro simply drops. Duo yells at him to open his parachute, but Hiiro refuses. Relena runs to the gaping hole and screams his name, and Hiiro instinctively opens the parachute. It's far too late, though, and Hiiro slides down a rocky hill, his parachute not helping at all. He rolls down the beach, but is able to get up. Sally is shocked that he could survive such a fall. Duo lands nearby and helps Hiiro away. They recover both Gundams and Hiiro sets his broken leg with his bare hands, then wraps it up and is able to walk around.

Meanwhile, Trowa Barton has launched an attack on the Corsica military base. He runs out of ammunition, but just as the Alliance Specials think they've got the battle won, Quatre Raberba Winner and the Maganac Corps arrive, showering the Alliance troops with hundreds of bullets. When the Alliance presence is temporarily gone, Quatre and Trowa face off. Both know that they shouldn't be fighting, and both surrender, beginning a strong, but somewhat complicated friendship.

Chang Wu Fei undertakes a mission to destroy the Taurus space mobile suits at the Lake Victoria base, and destroys the base dormitory with some well placed bombs. He speeds off on a motorcycle, and is pursued by Lieutenant (Instructor) Lucrezia Noin in an Aries mobile suit. Noin is shocked at his age and Wu Fei is shocked at her gender. Some soldiers from the base arrive in Aries suits carrying a giant space laser, but after Noin sees how young Wu Fei is, she orders them not to fire. Wu Fei destroys the suits and takes the space laser. He aims it into the sky over the base, not far away, knowing that a carrier will soon be escaping with the Taurus suits. He shoots down the carrier and flies away.

Vice Foreign Minister Dorlian and his daughter, Relena, travel back into outer space. Once they reach the colony, Dorlian meets with colony leaders. During the meeting, Lady Une, assistant to Treize Khushrenada, throws a small bomb through the window. Dorlian is the only immediate survivor, and several rebels rescue him and Relena, who wasn't in the room at the time of the bombing. They drive off in an armored car and Dorlian explains Relena's true identity to her. Relena Dorlian is actually Princess Relena Peacecraft, of the now conquered Sanc Kingdom, which believed in total pacifism. When the Alliance took over, Dorlian, a government official in the kingdom, rescued Relena and fled. The entire royal family, save for Relena and her older brother, Milliardo, were killed when the kingdom fell in AC 182. That said, Dorlian falls asleep and never awakens.

Relena meets with Dr. J, the man who sent Hiiro Yuy to Earth. Dr. J explains their motives and why Hiiro had to go, then he sends Relena back to Earth. On Earth, Relena finds that Hiiro has transferred schools. He has not left yet, but he's packing his bags. A party is going on at the school, and Relena takes Hiiro downstairs. They dance, and Relena asks if he's still planning to kill her, to which he replies that he is. She catches Hiiro off guard when she tells him that she's met Dr. J and she's "on his side." The school is suddenly attacked, OZ wants Relena dead. Hiiro gets in his Gundam and wipes out the threat, then prepares to kill Relena, but something he doesn't understand holds him back. He transforms into bird mode and flies away.

The Alliance leaders meet at New Edward's base, and Treize Khushrenada, leader of OZ, creates the illusion that it's actually a meeting of OZ leaders. The Gundam pilots are all tricked into coming to the base. Hiiro and Duo attack together, then Quatre and Trowa arrive a bit later. The Alliance, headed by Marshal Noventa, discusses peace with the colonies. General Viente of OZ's space forces agrees with Noventa, but General Septem does not. He asks how they can think of disarming themselves during attacks from the colonies' Gundams. Noventa and Viente explain that if they disarm and make peace with the colonies, there will no longer be a reason for them to attack with their Gundams. Treize decides the future is about to take a wrong turn, and puts his plan into action. The Alliance leaders evacuate and Treize gives them a high speed OZ shuttle. Of course, this shuttle flies off and registers with the Gundams as an OZ shuttle. Hiiro flies up to it and unknowingly assassinates the Alliance's pacifists. General Septem is taken with Treize and Lady Une on another shuttle, where he makes a public declaration against the Gundam pilots on television. After he finishes, Lady Une throws him out the back of the shuttle and shoots him (why she thinks the fall alone wouldn't kill him, I don't know). The world is now left wide open for OZ to control.

Back at New Edward's, OZ soldiers set the base to self destruct in a fashion that would wipe out approximately 300 kilometers around it. Sally Poe requests that the Gundam pilots save the base so as not to kill many innocent people, and Hiiro Yuy disarms the bombs with only seconds to spare. While Hiiro, Duo, and Quatre stay at New Edwards, Trowa and Wu Fei have stolen carriers and chased Treize. They arrive at the OZ fleet where Treize has gone, and Wu Fei crashes his carrier into a ship. He looks for Treize while Trowa attemps the same "landing." Trowa is shot down, but is not damaged. He fights for a while before getting thrown into the ocean and fighting there. Wu Fei is almost to Treize's ship when Lady Une attacks him in a Leo. He easily defeats her and flies to Treize's yacht. Treize challenges him to a duel and Wu Fei jumps out. They duel and Wu Fei is defeated. He considers himself unfit to pilot Nataku (the name he's given his Gundam) and refuses to fight any longer.

Meanwhile, OZ, a secret organization that had hidden itself inside the Alliance military, begins taking over Alliance bases one by one all over the world, and quickly pushes the Alliance out. Zechs Merquise finally re-enters in a big way. His now-complete mobile suit, the prototype Leo known as Tallgeese, is first used in an attack on the Sanc Kingdom. OZ had not anticipated the laser cannons that were in use at the Sanc Kingdom base, and they retreat. Zechs pilots Tallgeese to an extreme and suffers a heart attack from the sheer force of it all. As he recovers, a fellow OZ soldier, Otto, borrows Tallgeese and goes on a kamikaze mission, destroying the Sanc Kingdom base. Tallgeese is unharmed, but Otto is killed. After thirteen years, Zechs has finally returned to his home. He removes his mask and speaks to a portrait of his father, of how he is unfit to lead the Sanc Kingdom, but that his sister can do it. He puts the mask back on and leaves.

OZ plans to transport several Taurus space mobile suits to a spaceport, where they will be sent to outer space. It's an important operation, and so two routes are employed - a real route, by air, and a decoy route, by train. Quatre Raberba Winner attacks the train route, and is almost killed when a shot in the back throws his Gundam down on the tracks in front of the speeding train. Duo Maxwell arrives and derails the train, then the two of them fight off the hordes of Leos inside.

Hiiro Yuy and Trowa Barton have taken the air route. Hiiro arrives, but Zechs is ready for him in his Tallgeese. Trowa destroys the supply depot, as was his mission, while Hiiro fights Zechs. As the fight starts to go the Gundams' way, Lady Une employs her "back up" plan. She aims every missile satellite in space at the colonies and threatens to destroy them if the pilots do not surrender and hand over their Gundams. Dr. J contacts them through an open channel and speaks to everyone present - OZ, the Gundams, Zechs... everyone. He basically states that he didn't know even OZ could go that low, and that he has no choice but to surrender - however, he will not hand over the Gundams. Hiiro knows what he must do now, and steps out of his Gundam. "Mission accepted." He holds up a small trigger and hits the button. Wing explodes and Hiiro is thrown off, landing in a pool of his own blood. Lady Une and Lucrezia Noin are shocked, and Quatre suddenly clutches his chest, saddened so much that he's actually in pain (no, he's not having a heart attack). Trowa picks up Hiiro's limp body in the hand of his Heavyarms Gundam and Zechs lets him go. The Gundam pilots withdraw, and are silenced for the time being.

Following the battle in Siberia, Duo and Quatre meet up in a desert, afraid to cross because of the possibility of an OZ soldier seeing them and attacking the Colonies. They cross during a sand storm and go to the Maganac's underground base. OZ locates the base and flushes out the Maganac Corps by setting bombs in the town sitting above the base. The town is evacuated and the Gundams escape while the Maganac attack.

Hiiro recovers with Trowa's traveling circus and regains consciousness about one month after the battle in Siberia. At about the same time, an OZ base requests a show from the circus, and Trowa offers to put on a new performance he's been working on. Trowa tells Hiiro what he's planning to do, and the day comes for the show. The OZ soldiers gather under the tent, and the show begins. Spotlights are shone on Trowa, only to reveal Gundam Heavyarms. Trowa begins an attack that he plans to end with his self detonation. However, Catherine interferes, because she doesn't want him to die. Her tears change Trowa's mind, and he and Hiiro leave.

Meanwhile, Zechs Merquise has collected the remains of Wing Gundam and plans to rebuild it to continue the battle. He knows it's pretty much impossible that the Gundam pilot lived, and yet, he has the strange sense that he's alive. OZ catches on to Zechs' plan, and they don't like it. They order Zechs to destroy the Gundam, but of course, Zechs doesn't want to do that. He creates a dummy Gundam and destroys it for OZ, while the real one lies hidden under a lake.

Chang Wu Fei meets up with Sally Poe, the former Alliance Major. She's now part of a resistance group in an area of China, where she helps attack bases. After one seemingly successful attack, they're pursued by Leo suits. The Leo's are about to kill Sally and her friends when Shenlong Gundam rises up out of the forest. Wu Fei announces that he has no interest in fighting, but when one of the soldiers says that he's not so tough, and that they can defeat him, Wu Fei flips out. He yells at them not to underestimate Nataku, and kills each one quickly.

Wu Fei hangs out with the resistance group for a while, always telling them that those who are weak should not be fighting. They have no right to fight, and he has no right to fight, because he's weak. The resistence group is attacked, and nearly wiped out before they finally convince Wu Fei to pilot Shenlong. Wu Fei wins the battle, and Sally tells him why he's got a right to fight and use Nataku's power. Wu Fei finally sees that there's nothing wrong with being weak, and considers himself fit to fight once again.

Hiiro Yuy and Trowa Barton travel around from place to place, locating Noventa family members. At each family member, Hiiro hands the relative a gun, giving them a chance to take revenge for the death of Marshal Noventa. Each one allows him to live, and Mrs. Noventa, the Marshal's wife, gives him words of encouragement and forgiveness. Shortly after Hiiro finishes visiting the Noventa family members, he's tracked down by Lucrezia Noin. She takes Hiiro and Trowa to Antarctica, where the battle with Zechs is continued. The problem is Inspector Acht and the OZ search team, who don't believe that Zechs actually destroyed the Gundam. They track him to Antarctica, and are dealt with swiftly, dying by Trowa's hand. Unfortunately, OZ now knows where Zechs is, and so does someone else.

Relena Peacecraft, desperate to find out whether or not Hiiro is alive, eventually finds her way to Mrs. Noventa. Mrs. Noventa gives her a letter to deliver to Hiiro when she sees him, and she finally tracks Hiiro to Antarctica. She gets in her own little airplane (hey, you want an airplane, you go get a country) and goes after him to Antarctica. The battle between Hiiro and Zechs starts. Hiiro pilots Gundam Heavyarms, because he believes piloting Wing would be like accepting a charity. Relena's a bit late. She interrupts the battle just before Zechs delivers a killing slash with the beamsaber. Hanging out of the door of an airplane, she screams to Hiiro that she's got a letter for him, and that it tells him how to live his life (what's she doing reading other people's mail, anyway?). Hiiro and Zechs continue their battle despite her, but more than thirty OZ carriers full of Aries suits arrive. Zechs draws them away, giving Hiiro, Trowa, Relena, and Noin time to escape.

Lady Une opens diplomatic relations between the colonies and OZ, thus negating any chance to use the colonies as a shield again. Duo Maxwell and Quatre Raberba Winner use this to their advantage and launch a large attack on the Singapore spaceport. OZ has already drawn the space colonies in, though, and the colonies denounce the Gundams and their attack, even wishing death to the pilots. The other three Gundam pilots arrive in the middle of the fight and steal HLVs. As the four others take off, Quatre and his Sandrock hold off the enemy mobile suits, and Quatre eventually has to self-detonate in order to escape. He jumps out of Gundam Sandrock and runs off to get his own HLV. Sandrock's explosion is enough to take out all remaining enemies.

After moving out into space, OZ begins searching out and imprisoning the Gundam scientists. Lady Une demands that they build a mobile suit superior to Tallgeese or the Gundams, but the scientists refuse to help OZ. Dr. J borrows the communication equipment and finds that Quatre is broadcasting on Hiiro's frequency. Lady Une orders that Quatre's shuttle, which has been discovered, be destroyed. To prevent Quatre's death, the scientists agree to help out OZ.

Meanwhile, Treize Khushrenada has arranged for Zechs Merquise to die for OZ, in order to silence the higher-ups in the organization and raise morale among the OZ soldiers. Zechs fights his way through Treize's arranged attack, and after meeting up with Howard, one of the designers of the Tallgeese, he pays outer space a visit, as well.

Duo Maxwell is found by OZ and he's attacked by mobile dolls. Duo tries, unsuccessfully, to fight them, and when he runs out of all other ideas and Deathscythe's output drops to zero, he attempts self-detonation, only to find that isn't working, either. Duo is captured by OZ, who plans to use his execution to their benefit. Hiiro infiltrates Space Fortress Barge on his mission to kill Duo. After finding him, though, Hiiro decides against killing him. Hiiro and Duo escape Barge after some clever manipulation of flaws in the mobile doll system, where Hiiro gets them to set space Leo's as targets. As Hiiro and Duo fly away from Barge in a small ship, Hiiro vows to kill the Gundam scientists.

Trowa Barton joins OZ and moves up quickly into Lady Une's favor. As a final test during his mobile suit training, he is given a beam rifle and ordered to destroy what's left of Gundam Deathscythe as a public demonstration against the Gundams. Trowa's ability to destroy the suit without any change in heart rate or brain waves convinces most of the unsure OZ officers that he is in fact, NOT a Gundam pilot, as some suspected he might be. Certain people, such as Lieutenant Nikol, remain unsure. Their opinion doesn't sway Lady Une.

The Gundam scientists build the mobile suits they designed, Mercurius and Vayeate. Mercurius is a defensive mobile suit, with a depoyable shield system that stops any beam attack (including beam sabers or Duo's scythe). Vayeate is an offensive suit, with the largest possible beam rifle that could be used on the suit. Hiiro goes to kill the Gundam scientists and stumbles upon the mobile suits while the scientists are first showing them to an OZ group that includes Lady Une, Lieutenant Nikol, and Trowa Barton, among others. While Mercurius is about 80% complete, Vayeate is only about half, and doesn't even have a lower half yet. He gets into the top half, which sits, suspended from the ceiling on cables. He fires the beam rifle at the scientists, but they react quickly and protect themselves with the Mercurius shield. Vayeate falls to the ground and Hiiro jumps out, only to meet Trowa, whose handgun is already aimed at Hiiro. Hiiro is imprisoned on Barge.

Quatre meets up with his family again, just in time to find that the citizens on the resource satellite that the Winner family owns are turning against Quatre's father in favor of OZ. Quatre's father, who is a pacifist and doesn't believe in violence, separates the resources from the colony as a peaceful protest of sorts. OZ attacks, and Mr. Winner is killed. Quatre goes insane and builds a new Gundam whose blueprints he found stored away on the computer that his scientist used when Sandrock was built.

Mercurius and Vayeate are completed and their test run is a battle against the Tallgeese. Trowa selects Hiiro as the pilot for the Mercurius, while Trowa pilots the Vayeate. A self destruct circuit is added to the Mercurius, which Trowa can detonate from the Vayeate, just in case Hiiro tries to get away. En route to the battle with Zechs, Hiiro and Trowa destroy their escort mobile dolls, and the few that they let survive, they kill during the battle. After the mobile dolls are gone, Zechs surrenders and introduces himself as Milliardo Peacecraft, a good will ambassador from the Earth. Zechs begins traveling through space to different colonies as a good will ambassador of the Sanc Kingdom. In one such instance, OZ attacks the Alliance space headquarters, and Zechs, who is visiting the colony as an amabassador, volunteers to fight.

Chief Engineer Tsubarov goes to the Lunar Base, where mobile doll mass production facilities are set up. The mobile dolls are to be sent to Earth, where they'll resolve disputes by wiping out the other side. As Tsubarov is nearing the Lunar base, Chang Wu Fei attacks the Lunar Base, but is defeated. His Gundam is towed in and he's thrown into prison. The Gundam scientists take both Shenlong, and the remains of Deathscythe, to rebuild and upgrade.

Duo Maxwell meets up with an OZ volunteer named Hildy, who encourages him to sign up for OZ. He shows up a week early, or so Hildy thought, but she soon finds out he didn't intend to join OZ. Duo steals a space Leo and heads for the Lunar Base. Hildy pursues and attacks him, but Duo shows her why they're on the same side, and she covers him while he gets to the Lunar base. Duo finds the Gundam scientists and the Gundams being rebuilt, and in order to conceal the secret and keep the OZ soldiers from stumbling on the Gundams, he allows one of the scientists to beat him up and then throw him in prison with Hiiro and Wu Fei.

Sally Poe and some former Alliance members begin to travel from place to place, recovering Gundams that the pilots left behind on Earth. Wing Gundam is found under an ocean, and then Gundam Sandrock, or what's left of it, anyway, is taken from an OZ base. Gundam Heavyarms is recovered and sent to space much later on.

A mystery mobile suit broadcasting Sandrock's blueprints begins attacking the space colonies. The scientists are afraid this may be the mobile suit they all designed together, a suit that even they thought was too powerful to suit their purpose, and that Quatre must be the pilot.

The pilot always warns a colony before he attacks, giving the civilians time to escape. The single suit can and does destroy entire colonies in one shot, so people generally heed the warning, and the colonies are empty by the time the pilot gets there. OZ sends Hiiro and Trowa to the pilot's next target. Mercurius and Vayeate meet the mystery mobile suit - Wing Gundam Zero, piloted by Quatre Raberba Winner. Quatre warns Hiiro and Trowa not to get any closer to him, but they go anyway. Quatre shoots at Trowa, partially destroying the Vayeate. Hiiro goes after him, and the Mercurius shield is sufficient in blocking the blast for a while. The shield finally runs out and Quatre fires the blast that will kill Hiiro, as well as probably destroy the colony behind Hiiro. Trowa jumps in the way and takes the full blast for Hiiro. Hiiro and Trowa realize that the Vayeate is about to explode, so Trowa files out from the colony and uses his last minutes to bring back the old Quatre he knows, the one who always apologizes after killing an enemy, who would never willingly hurt anyone or anything, save for enemy mobile suits. Hiiro attacks Quatre again and drives him back into the colony. The hangar door shuts, sealing them inside and Trowa out. Quatre pleads with Hiiro to stop fighting so they can go save Trowa. Quatre frantically yells out that Trowa's going to die, to which Hiiro replies that it's his fault. Vayeate explodes and Trowa's last thought is that Hiiro shouldn't be too hard on Quatre. Trowa floats out aimlessly into space. Hiiro and Quatre continue to fight until Quatre nearly kills Hiiro. Quatre tries to help Hiiro, and they go back to the Lunar Base...without Trowa.

Chief Engineer Tsubarov shuts off the air supply to the Gundam pilots and scientists in order to kill them. Lady Une shows up and sets them free. Immediately after Wu Fei, Duo, and the Gundam engineers are out, Tsubarov shows up and shoots Lady Une. Wu Fei and Duo leave on their upgraded mobile suits, Altron and Deathscythe Hell. On their way out, they take care of a group of Virgo mobile dolls before escaping into outer space. No one can confirm whether Lady Une and Trowa Barton are alive.

The Gundam scientists included a system on Wing Zero called the Zero System. Zero System is a system that accumulates battle data and feeds it directly to the pilot, which then increases the pilot's reaction time, battle skills, etc. The problem with it is that it can sometimes go too fast for the pilot, showing him things that will happen in the future if he stays on his current path. If one can't control the System, it will eventually basically drive the pilot insane, as happened with Quatre.

Treize Khushrenada disagrees with the mobile dolls and resigns his position as leader of OZ. OZ splits into two groups - OZ and the Treize Faction. The Treize Faction members in the Lunar Base take in the Gundam scientists and pilots, but when their hideout is found, OZ takes the pilots to gather battle data on Wing Zero. During the tests, Hiiro goes insane, thanks to the Zero System, and attacks anyone who stands in his way that he sees as an enemy. Quatre jumps in the Mercurius, in order to stop Hiiro. Hiiro fights Quatre, but Quatre doesn't fight back. When Hiiro sees that he's killing an ally, he vomits in disgust and falls out of Wing Zero. Quatre runs up to him and helps him, and the Gundam pilots leave for the Earth. Mercurius self-detonates, and the shields deployed around it contain the explosion. The Gundam engineers are surprised that they've survived again, and discover Wing Zero, also inside the shields, but unharmed by the explosion.

Hiiro and Quatre are captured by OZ, but escape. After wandering around for a while, Hiiro joins the Treize Faction, despite Quatre's protests. However, during one battle against Romefeller's Virgo suits, Hiiro's entire unit is obliterated. Just as it seems Hiiro himself will fall to a machine, Quatre arrives in a stolen Aries, and right after that, Noin surprises the pair with Wing Gundam's buster rifle, which is then used to destroy the entire Virgo army. Hiiro and Quatre go with Noin to the Sanc Kingdom, where Hiiro recovers his Gundam.

In the Sanc Kingdom, Relena runs a school for representatives from pacifist nations. Among her students is Dorothy Catalonia, granddaughter of Duke Dermail. Dorothy is a big fan of war and immediately takes advantage of the opportunity to meet a Gundam pilot, though Hiiro attempts to conceal his identity.

Romefeller pushes a Treize Faction force into the Sanc Kingdom to create an excuse to invade the Sanc Kingdom. However, Hiiro fights in his Gundam and the Treize Faction is supplied with the Sanc Kingdom's white Taurus suits, and the Romefeller force is defeated. Following the battle, Relena, based on the advice of Hiiro and Noin, decides to build a small unit to defend the nation.

To be continued...
