New Mobile
Report Gundam Wing DVD: Operation 6
Once
again, there's no real difference between this DVD and the others
as far as the menu layout and such goes. As should probably go
without saying, there is, once more, a model commercial during
start up. The menus are still the same inside-the-mobile-suit
stuff we've had the whole time, featuring images from the
episodes on the disc and Just Communication looping in the
background.
This disc only has one bio, for the Gundam engineers. The mobile suit data is on Wing Gundam Zero. The Gundam engineers' bio isn't too bad, but a flaw should be noted. The Mercurius and Vayeate were not designed to surpass the Wing Zero as the bio states. They were only to be "better than the Gundams," and Lady Une had no knowledge of Wing Zero when she said that. Logically speaking, why would they create for their enemy something more powerful than something ELSE that they already deemed too powerful? And well, if you don't like that explanation, then just watch Quatre hand Hiiro's ass to him on a silver platter.
As usual, the insert contains summaries of the five episodes on the disc and information on the featured mobile suit, this time Wing Gundam Zero. Zero has a nice little wire frame model as always with its specs surrounding it. The DVD ads on the back are for Endless Waltz, Outlaw Star Collection 2, Gundam W Operation 3, Escaflowne: Dragons and Destiny, and Saber Marionette J Collection 1.
After the battle between Mercurius and Wing Zero, Hiiro and Quatre have returned to the Lunar Base without Trowa, who is missing and presumed dead. Upon arrival, they're arrested and tests on the Zero System begin. Hiiro goes crazy in the Wing Zero and after a short battle, Hiiro and Quatre head for Earth. Due to Treize's resignation at the end of the last disc, OZ has split into two groups: Romefeller, and the Treize Faction. The Treize Faction thus becomes one of Romefeller's targets when it launches Operation Nova, the plan to send mass-produced Virgo mobile dolls to Earth to put down any and all rebellious behavior. Following two recap episodes, Quatre and Hiiro end up in the Sanc Kingdom, where they meet Dorothy Catalonia, the granddaughter of Romefeller's Duke Dermail, and are also reunited with Relena Peacecraft. Thus begins another chapter of the series.
Though it's definitely not a bad disc, its more of a "downtime" disc again, much like Operation 3. The recap episodes are definitely not very fun, and overall, it's just not quite as good as Operations 4 or 5. Still, a good disc and I would recommend it to any Gundam W fans.
