New Mobile Report Gundam Wing DVD: Operation 5
Operation 5
Once again, there's no real difference between this DVD and the others as far as the menu layout and such goes. The model commercial returns during the start up and will probably be there for the rest of the series. The menu is from inside a mobile suit cockpit with clips from the episodes playing in the viewscreen. Just Communication loops in the background again.

After the disc had been on backorder for almost TEN WEEKS at Express.com, I finally found it for less money and available at Suncoast.com. We love you, Suncoast.

Trowa Barton finally gets his chance after being skipped over on the third volume. The bios on this disc are for Trowa and Lucrezia Noin, and the mobile suit info is of course, Gundam Heavyarms. As usual, the bios are nice, but nothing completely earthshattering. The trailers featured on the disc are listed at the bottom of the page.

The insert is again, just like the rest. Short summaries of each episode with a corresponding image from each episode. The wire frame model is Gundam Heavyarms and as usual, it contains some specs on the mobile suit as well. The ads on the back of the insert FINALLY got changed out after four straight volumes of the same thing. Now, we get Outlaw Star Collection 1, Cowboy Bebop Session 5, Gundam W Operation 3, Escaflowne: Dragons and Destiny, and Jubei-Chan: A Legend Reborn!

The disc also came with a second insert. It's basically just a big ad for Gundam action figures. The cover features the original RX-78 Gundam from MSGD and inside, there are pictures of action figures ranging from Mobile Suit Gundam to Endless Waltz and everything in between. Small spaces are also given to advertise the trading cards and home video releases of the Gundam series. Overall, it advertises from MSGD, 08th MS Team, Gundam 0080, Gundam 0083, Gundam W, and Endless Waltz (mostly with action figures).

Following the return of the Gundam pilots to space, this disc starts out with Quatre's being reunited with his family. As OZ moves in on the Winner resource disposal satellite, Quatre's father is killed and Quatre goes a bit insane. Meanwhile, Zechs has come to space and meets the now complete Mercurius and Vayeate, piloted by Trowa Barton and Hiiro Yuy. Duo and Wu Fei are captured by OZ and the Gundam engineers begin rebuilding Deathscythe and Shenlong. Crazy Quatre resurfaces with a Gundam he built based on old blueprints he found and begins blasting colonies out of existence until Trowa Barton and Hiiro Yuy intervene. The resulting battle shakes Quatre back to sanity and leaves Trowa MIA, believed dead, while Duo and Wu Fei escape the Lunar Base in their still-incomplete upgraded Gundams.

The DVD features some of the best episodes in the series, so I'd definitely recommend it to any fan of Gundam W. So far, my favorite DVD release for this series.
